Common questions

How do I draw a curve instead of a straight line?

Press and hold on an empty area of the map and drag your finger sideways. The line bends toward your finger — like the pen tool in Photoshop. Release to lock it in.

How do I delete a point?

Long-press the numbered marker. It disappears together with any curve attached to it.

How do I move a point I've already placed?

Tap the marker first to select it (a cyan ring appears). Then drag the marker to its new location. Long-press a selected marker to redraw its incoming curve.

Which units can I switch between?

Distance: mm, cm, m, km, in, ft, yd, mi.
Area: cm², m², ha, km², ft², yd², acre, mi².
Tap the unit chip in the top measurement card to switch any time — values are recalculated immediately.

How accurate is it?

Measurements use Apple's satellite imagery and geodetic calculations. Accuracy depends on the image resolution in your region. For legal, surveying or construction-grade work, please always confirm with a professional survey.

What's the difference between Map Measure and Map Measure Lite?

Lite is free and lets you try every measurement tool. The full version unlocks PDF/PNG/CSV/GeoJSON export, sharing, and unrestricted screenshots. The full version is a one-time purchase — no subscription, no ads, no account.

Does Map Measure track me?

No. The app runs entirely on your device. There are no trackers, no analytics SDKs, and no account. Apple Maps loads the satellite tiles. Your saved measurements live in SwiftData on your phone only.
